Reverend Dr Stephanie Dowrick has been leading retreats at the truly interfaith, multicultural retreat centre, Mana Retreat, Coromandel, New Zealand, since 2001. She teaches there twice each year, at Easter and again in the (NZ) Spring. This year the Spring Retreat is October 4-7.
For the last few years she has been wonderfully supported by Reverend Hilary Star who also leads the Auckland interfaith community that meets each 2nd Sunday of the month in Point Chevalier, Auckland, and also has a number of meditation groups that have grown out of the Mana retreats. People are most welcome to stay longer on either side of the retreat. The centre is reached by shuttle bus or ferry fromAuckland.
Stephanie (r) and Hilary (l) were photographed there at the recent Easter Retreat. For more information about retreats at Mana please contact them direct at http://www.manaretreat.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Easter Retreat, Mana Retreat Centre, Coromandel, New Zealand 5-9 April 2012
I’d like to offer a very special welcome to the annual Easter Retreat at Mana Retreat Centre in NZ. I have been teaching there for eleven years and it is one of the most beautiful and certainly one of the most sacred places on earth. Not only is the land magnificent, and the team who run it with Donna Idol’s leadership unfailingly kind, the facilities are simple and lovely and the retreat centre also has a dedicated stone-built Sanctuary which is truly interspiritual: stained glass windows reflect the traditions, and the major window looks out to the land and oceans we all share.
Mana is, for all who visit, a deeply nourishing and healing place. And at the Easter retreat we have a very special service in the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday morning, in addition to any private visits you wish to make to meditate (or sing!) Read the rest of this entry
