Interfaith In Sydney Celebrates Six Years

Standard

The interfaith community in Sydney established and led by Reverend Dr Stephanie Dowrick celebrated its sixth anniversary at the Pitt Street Uniting Church on Sunday, 17 June with a service on the theme of The Golden Rule. The commemorative service included readings of The Golden Rule expressed in different religious traditions by five interfaith ministers living and working in Sydney. The timing of the service also coincided with the anniversary month of the ordination of the ministers who graduated over the last few years from either The New Seminary or One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, both in New York.

It’s always a beautiful, uplifting and inspiring service but this one was particularly moving because it commemorated the birth of  interfaith services in Sydney, changing lives through their inclusiveness, inspiration, beauty and openness while firmly based on a sound academic approach. As always, exquisite music was provided by Dr Kim Cunio and Elizabeth Lecoanet. The services are held every third Sunday of the month at Pitt Street Uniting Church, 264 Pitt Street, Sydney.
